There have been similar concerts in this series but this manages to be a little different. For many people, these songs bring back a concrete event: “we were always listening to this when …” It is rather like finding an old newspaper wrapped around on of Grandpa’s demijohns in the attic: “Well, they opened the first underpass in Pest the day Kennedy was shot!” These are seemingly irrelevant coincidences; their only common denominator is they bring back a personal memory. Well, we can’t promise this will inevitably do the trick but there will be contemporary newscasts, Hungarian and international events, from sport to city life to world politics. Naturally, this is just an illustration to show where to place the song, illuminated by a later generation, songs from Kati Kovács, to Kex and even A. E. Bizottság.
