For as long as the band has been around, the Pál Street Boys have had their songs performed in many different forms. This time, those songs will be appearing, for the first time, clad in entirely new garb.
When a couple of bored lads first starting jamming in a Szigetszentmiklós garage in the summer of 1983, the aim was simply to pass the time. No one could even have dreamed that, 32 years later, the MR Symphonics would be performing their songs in one of Hungary's most beautiful venues, not to mention its most prestigious. The heart of the matter naturally lies within the songs themselves, since those to be performed here will include both those created during that summer long gone, and others, written recently for their new album, that have never been played before.
Those old songs have been played so many times from small clubs to the largest festivals, been danced to by so many people, and have no doubt sealed friendships and romances alike. While a good song can be performed in any format and still remain a good song, tonight these classics will take on their most beautiful guise, allowing the subtle details long suppressed by the background hiss from constantly played and frequently copied cassettes to shine through.
Joining the MR Symphonics and the members of PUF will of course be those guest musicians who have added colour to the group's live performances for years: Ákos Dióssy on piano and Krisztián Qka Szűcs. The former will not only be playing a large variety of wind instruments in the production, he is also collaborating on rearranging the songs.
