Ólafur Arnalds
14 October 2018, Sunday
6 pm - 7:30 pm
Béla Bartók National Concert Hall
Produced by Müpa Budapest

As you listen to the music of Icelandic composer and multi-instrumentalist Ólafur Arnalds, you feel an irresistible desire to be exposed to the calm and grim beauty of those Northern lands. The indefatigable creator and performer released his first album at the age of twenty, and makes hypnotic compositions that defy categories of genre and style.

In the autumn of 2018 he presents his new pieces on a tour with over twenty European stages. He himself will play the piano and keyboards, and he will be accompanied by a string quartet that can also produce special effects, as well as a percussionist. The concert also features a special player piano which Ólafur and his team spent two years developing.
