Nigel Kennedy Quintet
“Blue Note Sessions”
31 March 2007 Saturday
5:30 pm - 8:30 pm
Béla Bartók National Concert Hall
Budapest Spring Festival

When Nigel Kennedy was a child at the Yehudi Menuhin Music School in England, he was rumoured to have listened to jazz every night under his bed sheets. Kennedy is known primarily as an extravagant performer of Vivaldi and for his superb technique (he sold over two million copies of his Vivaldi CD, which earned him the recognition of the Guinness Book of Records) but he has not been unfaithful to his love of jazz either. In 2006, he released his album Blue Note Sessions and his concerts that present the material on the album are among the sensations of the musical year.
