synthesiser, guitar Bence Molnár
vocals, drums Levente Boros
bass guitar Barna Szőke

MYGL is a side band that is essentially the solo project of Qualitons guitarist Barna Szőke, but the band has been characterised by collaboration ever since its inception in 2014. Its sound was initially electropop with an atmosphere of summer, but it has gradually changed, typically in the direction of more groove-oriented music. The band disappeared for a while, only to return stronger, with a new line-up and sound. The relaxed tone has remained, and the lazy funky beats lull you into a sense of timelessness.

Barna Szőke uses many stylistic elements as the guitarist of Qualitons, and the same is true of his solo work. In the beginning, he made dance remixes for others, and his later solo project MYGL was also driven by "collaborations". Through his contributions in other bands, Márton Hó and Noémi Barkóczi sang on several of his songs. These tracks ranged from dreamy, feelgood tropical house to trickier, more bass-oriented, sometimes even trap-based compositions, but there was also almost always a touch of soul in these songs. After taking a break, he has now returned with a central bass guitar theme, making a rhythm section with his Qualitons bandmate, drummer Levente Boros, and adding Sára Háló and Bence Molnár to the formation. This music is characterised partly by a funky, neo-soul live sound, partly by a groove-dub-psychedelic sway that evokes Khruangbin and works particularly well live. The formation that has evolved into a band - sometimes instrumental, sometimes with vocals - is working on a new album, and this ice rink concert will be a sneak peek into the atmosphere they are working on, which will also characterise the musical world of the album.
