Muzsikás Ensemble
Christmas Concert
28 December 2013 Saturday
6 pm - 9 pm
Béla Bartók National Concert Hall
Featuring Mária Petrás (Moldavia) – singer, Zoltán “Batyu” Farkas and Ildikó “Fecske” Tóth – dancers, the Corvinus Közgáz Folk Dance Ensemble and the Pro Musica Girls Choir

Hungary’s leading folk music ensemble, which celebrates the 40th anniversary of its existence this year, is known almost universally as an ambassador of Hungarian music and a truly unique national musical treasure, with a presence both at home and on major stages, festivals and concert halls internationally. The vibrant music and spontaneous performing style of Muzsikás never fails to entrance audiences wherever the group travels. Its Christmas concert has now become a tradition, as has the custom of inviting authentic village masters, urban folk musicians and other renowned performers as guests. This year’s event conjures the intimacy of Christmas, immersing us in the happy and uninhibited secular atmosphere of dancing and merrymaking of the year-end holiday season.
