Muzsikás Christmas Concert
28 December 2012, Friday
6:30 pm - 9 pm
Béla Bartók National Concert Hall

Hungary’s leading folk music ensemble has graced the stages of the most prestigious theatres, festivals and concert halls both at home and the world over for decades. Among the venues the group visited in 2012, Muzsikás delighted audiences with Hungarian folk music at the Opéra de Dijon, New York’s Carnegie Hall and several festivals in England. Listeners everywhere are always captivated by the vitality of their music and the band's informal performance style. Muzsikás has now become an institution and a genuine Hungarian treasure, recognised as a staunch ambassador of Hungarian folk music and culture. The Muzsikás Christmas Concert is an outstanding tradition of many years’ standing at the Palace of Arts. It has also become a tradition for the audience to see and hear authentic village masters, street folk musicians and other famed performers as guests. This year, the evening will evoke both the intimacy of Christmas and the liberated and secular dancing and merry-making of the year-end seasonal period.
