one interval
Keith Jarrett is one of the most creative and uncompromising jazz musicians of our time, an artist recognised throughout the globe as a pianist and improvisational performer of unparalleled ability. The concerts and recordings of solo piano improvisations he has delivered for more than 40 years have provided lasting joy to listeners while marking out new directions in the field of contemporary jazz. His music embraces influences derived from the most diverse musical idioms, from jazz to classical music, and from blues to folk traditions. His exceptional career has seen the creation of some wonderful works, such as the legendary recording of The Köln Concert. The best-selling solo piano album of all time marked the 40th anniversary of its release in 2015.
It is a source of pride for Müpa Budapest that Jarrett gave a solo piano concert in the Béla Bartók National Concert Hall on 18 October 2007, two years after the building's opening. For many jazz fans, this remains one of the most memorable performances seen and heard between these walls. A repeat of this special event is now promised as the finale of the 2015/16 season.
Please note that patrons arriving late to the performance will only be allowed to take their places during the interval.
