Kálmán Oláh’s style has been on display numerous times in MUPA: his lyrical mood, attentive ensemble playing and intelligent integration of the most beautiful traditions of European music are his most important characteristics. He is now celebrating two jubilees on the MUPA stage: he has turned forty and now looks back at his musical affinities of which chamber jazz and contemporary ensemble have pride of place. In the second half, it is time for his Trio Midnight who have been together now for exactly twenty years – according to the critics this formation is Hungary’s tightest jazz band.
