Platinum level members of the Müpa+ membership programme can buy tickets for the event on 29 September from 10 am, at the Gold level on 30 September from 10 am, and at the Silver level on 1 October from 10 am. Basic level members, as well as members of the general public will get the opportunity to purchase tickets from 10 am on 2 October.
John Scofield is a constant innovator when it comes to modern jazz guitar. His creativity is a rare treasure: he works in a great many styles, yet his aesthetic identity rests on rock-solid foundations. To mark his 75th birthday, he will present both new and reimagined compositions with the group previously known as Combo 66. Gerald Clayton is the natural choice on piano; Scofield dovetails perfectly with him even as a duo – just as he does with the drummer Bill Stewart. Their partnership has only grown stronger over the decades. Nearly ten years ago, Stewart also introduced him to bassist Vicente Archer – to the great delight of all concerned. The man whose birthday we are celebrating regards his fellow musicians from different generations as a constant source of inspiration in creating a playful environment in which the master can truly feel at home.
