Jamie Winchester half-plugged
21 June 2011 Tuesday
6 pm - 8:20 pm
Festival Theatre
Hey, June!

The name of Jamie Winchester is known to everyone as a musician who has lived and worked in Hungary for more than 20 years; for anyone who has ever been to one of his concerts, however, it’s very clear that what he creates is by no means a product for mass consumption. His work can be briefly summarized as anything from loud rock & roll to soft and intimate music – and more importantly, many points in between. There are songs about relationships, ideas and feelings that we all share, but which we only wish we could express in this way. Winchester and his band can do it for us through their music, and in return we can “forgive” him for doing so in his own native language. This evening will be all about the musician’s mellow side, about an audience who are curious about the quiet moments, about friends gladly sharing a stage and songs that need careful attention in playing. It’s for this reason that Müpa is such a special place for the band to play, as all these requirements are always in place at once. Moreover, this early summer evening is an ideal occasion, before everyone gets caught up in the excitement of the summer festival season, for the band and its fans both old and new to get together for a happy evening, to shut out the outside world and concentrate on one simple thing: making everyone smile.
