Jazz Showcase

Having grown up as part of a Hungarian family in a small village close to Komarno, Slovakia, the jazz drummer Dávid Hodek conquered the world by the time he was 20. He started playing the drums as a pre-schooler in 2008 and founded his first band aged 11, with which he became a popular guest at jazz clubs and festivals in Hungary, Slovakia and later Western Europe. He performed his first independent concert at Müpa Budapest in 2012. In recent times, he has also achieved considerable success in the United States and is now bringing with him two musicians from across the water to Budapest. In addition to jazz, the multicultural trio draws heavily on funk, hip-hop and pop motifs.
