The stars are truly aligned as Hiperkarma takes over the Müpa stage to perform their indispensable hits alongside some more rarely heard gems perfectly attuned to the atmosphere of the Festival Theatre. The songs will be heard at this concert in a completely new guise, supplemented by strings, wind instruments and vocalists, with the instrumentation for each song tailored to the song’s individual character; besides “drum ‘n’ bass,” flute, saxophone, violin and trumpet will all feature as accompaniment. Hiperkarma tunes which the band played long ago – and even then only rarely – will be heard alongside others that have never been played at all. Some songs may call for a special venue and special instrumentation, since not every tune works in a noisy club concert or festival, but the band loves them none the less for that. Several songs from the band’s new album fit into this category.
“I’m starting to lean towards more acoustic things. I prefer to sing our slower songs and to play more quietly. I’m beginning to realise that what’s loud isn’t necessarily more powerful or dynamic than what’s restrained” – front man and songwriter Róbert Bérczesi said recently.
