We regret to inform you that Hermeto Pascoal passed away on 13 September 2025. We wish to extend our condolences to the legendary musician’s family, loved ones and fans. Despite lengthy discussions, the planned memorial tour will not go ahead.

Now 89 years old, and active since the 50s, the Brazilian Hermeto Pascoal is one of the biggest living legends in the Latin jazz world, yet he has never performed in Budapest before. He started out making music with the stars of the local scene in the 60s, and was making records with Miles Davis by 1971. The double Grammy Award-winning avant-garde jazz musician’s 2024 album turned out to be one of the most exciting releases of the year. His fusion of the many branches of Brazilian music – samba, choro and baião – with novel elements make him a peerless figure, especially as he performs on a variety of instruments and non-instruments in constant search of the boundaries of musical creativity in the company of a band that has remained unchanged for decades. His Budapest concert is sure to be an unmissable occasion.
