Gergő Szakács: Drawn Noises
22 November 2023, Wednesday
7 pm - 8:45 pm
Béla Bartók National Concert Hall
Produced by Müpa Budapest

While Follow The Flow was becoming one of the most popular bands in Hungary practically from one moment to the next, not only did Gergő Szakács work with other artists (Wellhello, Joci Pápai, Dénes Pál) as a songwriter, he also released a solo album. In addition to being a great success, his 2022 album Evolúció was also an imprint of ten years of songwriting and human development. The most important stage of this thoughtfully built solo career so far is the Rajzolt zajok (‘Drawn Noises') concert, featuring performances of well-known compositions in a previously unheard form.

In just a few years, Gergő Szakács has become one of the defining singer/songwriters of contemporary Hungarian pop music. While it is true that it took four years for his first solo song in 2015 to be followed by his second solo track, a great deal happened between the two events. This included co-writing the hits of numerous pop stars - Nikolas Takács, Gergő Rácz, Johnny K. Palmer, Dénes Pál, Wellhello and Joci Pápai. And in 2018 he joined Follow The Flow as its singer, which marked the beginning of yet another success story. However, Szakács never abandoned his solo appearances either, releasing in April 2022, as an imprint of more than ten years of emotional and musical development, his LP Evolúció, which went platinum in a few weeks. In 2022, he was the most played songwriter in Hungary, and the Drawn Noises concert, performed as a trio, will be of key importance in his solo career, as he himself said. Fans will get to enjoy Szakács's songs in a previously unheard form and in close proximity, linked together by music created especially for this evening. And since drawing is an important element of Gergő's life, so it is of the show as well, with stories drawn for the songs coming to life on stage.
