Gabi Szűcs is more than just a singer with an utterly captivating voice - she gives her entire being over to the story, the situation or the message expressed in her songs. Now she asks us: are the femme fatale, the ill-fated maiden and the wife yearning for love and fidelity that exist simultaneously in women, in fact, two different women? The songs performed in the concert and the iconic, legendary stories of the 'other halves' will examine this question. For this ladies night, in addition to her indispensable accompanying band, Gabi Szűcs will also be joined by the Mari Jászai Prize-winning singer Eszter Ónodi.

Swing and mainstream jazz-based song and stories of femininity, love, secret and open relationships, women of mysterious and charming, seductive and calculating destiny, and often lonely or abandoned wives, citing famous female performers such as Marilyn Monroe, Katalin Karády, Marlene Dietrich and Nina Simone. We will hear performances of Wives and Lovers, Whatever Lola Wants, My Baby Just Cares for Me, Fever and Mad About the Boy.
The eMeRTton Prize-winning Gabi Szűcs, a former member of the legendary Cotton Club Singers, is a permanent fixture of Hungarian jazz festivals, concert halls and jazz clubs. She presented material from her first solo album Swinging Amy at Müpa Budapest in 2015. The show for the follow-up Fonogram Prize-winning album Tűsarkú lépteim (The Steps of My Heels) was inspired by the ideas and approach to life of the dolce vita. Gabi was the founding singer for Hungary's first ever electro-swing group, Stereo Swing, where she also contributed as a songwriter. Every single one of her bandmates is a reliable instrumentalist from the Hungarian swing scene, and we can look forward to plenty of surprises, including some scintillating solos. Eszter Ónodi is a member of the Katona József Theatre, and regularly performs both theatrical and film roles. Now the time has come for her to portray Woman.
