Ferenc Snétberger – guitar, Richard Bona – bass guitar, vocals The deservedly internationally renowned Hungarian guitarist Ferenc Snétberger has enjoyed a career, which has been strongly coloured by his predilection making music in duos and trios. Over the last ten years, he has performed on many occasions with the Tunisian oud and vocal artist Dhafer Yousef (who will be appearing at the Palace of Arts in his own concert on May 16th). It is a further example of the artistic collaboration, which... characterised Snétberger’s relationship with Bobby McFerrin, with whom he recently performed to tremendous acclaim at the North Sea Jazz Festival. A new development in this series is a joint production with Cameroon born singer and bass guitarist world music star Richard Bona which promises to be one of the most exciting musical adventures of the season. Bona has played with just about all the big names of jazz and world music – from Joe Zawinul and Pat Metheny to Lokua Kanza and Gerald Toto. His intensely individual musical world, voice and instrumental virtuosity as either accompanist or bandleader have astounded audiences. Born in Italy and now living in Norway, percussion player Paolo Vinaccia first came to prominence in 1993 as a member of the Arild Anderson band where he took over the place of the legendary Nana Vasconcelos. His individual drum and conga playing plus his creative approach to music, enriches, amongst others, Snétberger’s Trio Nomad.
