Crazy about Jazz

Featuring:

vocals Erika Náray
piano Attila Juhász
bass guitar György Frey
drums, music director Tamás Berdisz

In this new Müpa Budapest series, the actress and jazz singer Erika Náray, in addition to singing one song one each occasion, chats with guest artists who have made a considerable contribution to contemporary Hungarian theatre, cinema and literature. This is not what unites them, however. Instead, they find common ground in jazz, this inexhaustible source of emotional expression and musical creativity. One of Hungary’s most popular actresses, Gabriella Hámori, and the director of Stop Mom Theresa!, Péter Bergendy, will recall their memories and experiences of jazz. Until then, their favourite jazz performers will remain a secret. Let us just say one thing: there will be a distinct need for woodwind soloists.

Audience members will be able to take their seats in the Bohém Restaurant on a first-come, first-served basis from 6 pm, and can enjoy dinner before and after the concert.
