Platinum level members of the Müpa+ membership programme can buy tickets for the event on 29 September from 10 am, at the Gold level on 30 September from 10 am, and at the Silver level on 1 October from 10 am. Basic level members, as well as members of the general public will get the opportunity to purchase tickets from 10 am on 2 October.
In 1975, the female author Rina Durante founded Canzoniere Grecanico Salentino (CGS) in Puglia. It is Salento’s first, and still foremost, folk-music ensemble. As recently as 2018 it was celebrated as the Best Wold Music Group at the Songlines Music Awards, while their 2021 album Meridiana was named Album of the Year by the World Music Charts Europe. The formation is characterised by respect for tradition combined with refreshing new influences, and it has always counted the finest performers of the Apulian music scene among its ranks – including former member Maria Mazzotta, who will herself appear at Müpa Budapest only a few weeks after the CGS concert. Alongside the passionate energy of an ensemble that has perfected the fiery, trance-inducing genre of pizzica, a cascade of rhythms will meet exquisitely polished vocal harmonies. A legendary band promising a legendary live performance.
