Bagossy Brothers Company
In calm waters
30 October 2019, Wednesday
7 pm - 8:50 pm
Béla Bartók National Concert Hall
Produced by Müpa Budapest

A few friends had been playing music together for years in Gyergyószentmiklós when finally, six years ago, they decided the time had come to form a band. The band's name came from the brothers' surname Norbert Bagossy (guitar, vocals) and László Bagossy (bass guitar, vocals), who were joined by fellow musicians Szilárd Bartis (drums), Attila Tatár (guitars, vocals) and Zsombor Kozma (violin, accordion, keyboards). The band's indie/alternative/folk sounds are the outcome of a musical direction shaped and reinterpreted on the basis of their experiences in the preceding years. Their first EP was released in December 2013 under the title Ha rólad szólna. One year later, they recorded their first album Elviszlek, which in 2015 débuted on the top of the charts on streaming service Deezer in Romania and Hungary. In spring 2016, the band released new material with the EP Vakít a kék, and have become regular guests at the most important festivals and musical events in Hungary and Transylvania. Their second album, entitled A Nap felé, was released in March 2017.
The band will now visit Müpa Budapest with an entirely fresh set: nothing will be as audiences have become accustomed to. Joining the band from Székely Land will be chamber group Heuréka Pop Orchestra (conductor: György Philipp) and the Cika Népzenekar.
