Müpa Budapest has dedicated a red-letter day to folk music every year since 2008. This tradition will be honoured in early 2027 as well, when we pay tribute to Ferenc Sebő, an indispensable part of Hungarian musical life. Prior to the varied evening programme evoking the entire oeuvre of the musician who passed away in 2026, the A Celebration of Folk Music series will, true to tradition, once more include a dance house, with the mood set by Junior Prima Prize-winning folk musician Attila Mihó and his friends. Later in the evening, friends and colleagues of Ferenc Sebő will perform, yet the connection to the artist will be equally close during the dance house in the hour preceding the concert, as Mihó and his companions recreate the atmosphere of the legendary Sebő Club dance houses, where they provided the music for people to dance to for seven years.
