The band 30Y has given a concert at Müpa every year since 2009. On occasion, they have only invited a few guests, but the number of performers reached as many as 21 in 2013. This year’s performance will take the form of a pub concert. Have you ever heard 30Y songs on wine glasses or mash tuns? The evening will also find a role for found objects such as the perepelocska. If you don’t know what these instruments are, this concert is the place to find out.
30Y’s Szentimentálé is a repertoire all of its own: at these concerts, this flow of songs has been the defining feature. On this occasion, the band chooses from its entire back catalogue of 15 years, and not merely from among the songs originally written for acoustic instruments. This year, they will also have a guest in the shape of the Honvéd Men’s Choir, as well as the evening’s audience – sometimes the job of making music also fall upon those sitting in the auditorium. For this reason, if you find a sheet of paper with strange symbols on your seat, don’t throw it away! Instead, get ready to be a performing artist yourself: the success or failure of the evening may depend on it! At these times, the musicians will sit back comfortably with wine glasses in hand listening to what is bound to be a great performance by their audience. But have no fear, the band will play too: film music, Grieg pieces for four hands, and of course 30Y songs.
