Ethnosound: The Drumming Experience
An interactive drumming show with the djembe, cajón and goblet drum
8 November 2025 Saturday
11 am - 12 pm
Glass Hall
Produced by Müpa Budapest

Programme led by:

Károly Fehér and members of the Ethnosound team

Drumming is fun. It has helped forge communities for thousands of years, even among those who are not necessarily music enthusiasts. Károly Fehér and the members of the Ethnosound team's Drumming Experience session is also based on an ancient human characteristic. If you hear a good rhythm, you will find your hands and feet moving in time, involuntarily, as bodies and instruments begin to work together to create something amazing, something never seen before. Participants will hear about all this and much more besides, and not just on a theoretical level. Everyone is given a real instrument. After encountering the djembe, the goblet drum, the cajón and the cardboard cajón, and learning about the important differences between them, our drum experts will show us how easy it is to create complex beats with your hands, with the help of improvisation and rhythm games. This is the place to be if you are not a professional drummer, but would like to experience the incomparable joy of playing music together!

FELHANGOLVA!
