MINI MATINÉE

We have some wonderful news: this train is never late! Already visible around the bend since pulling out of Shoeheel is Upper Pocket, and Baggagebottom is really only a hop away from Pillowpeak, but the final destination that we all have been waiting for will of course be Cabinettop. The BaHorKa Company respectfully asks you, its dearest passengers, to please start boarding so as not to miss this special service! The Comedy Express is waiting impatiently for the signal to depart. All children and adults on board should make themselves comfortable. It’s time to go!

The youngsters among the Müpa Budapest audience no longer require any introduction to the unique BaHorKa team and their productions, where seemingly remotely related areas, improvisation and folklore all go hand in hand. Their entertaining and lovable performances, direct in style and based on authentic folk music foundations, have now become a trademark: the ensemble, which has been working together for more than a decade and involves numerous guest artists, practically discovered and invented its own style. They tell stories with music, make music with fairy tales, and in the process, the boundaries between the auditorium and the stage disappear: it is as if the spectators and performers are all sitting at the same table. That is to say, in this case, in the same train compartment, as the Comedy Express offers a musical tour of the not-so-imaginary destinations mentioned above. Naturally, as with real trains, the driver sits in the front, followed by the all-knowing young railway ladies. We will also get to know a gem among conductors, and the programme will even include its own engineer and mechanical sounds expert. The folk customs and traditional children’s games presented in the guise of music and fairy tales that the BaHorKa Company is known for won’t be left behind at the departure station either. Hold on tight! The express is about to race off momentarily, and won’t be stopping!
