An organic juxtaposition of music and literature: the Literarium stage will, this time, feature an encounter between the poetry of Dénes Krusovszky and the unique soundscape of the line-up The Adventures of Bence. This performance of the material from their album Zsurlók (‘Horsetails’) is more than a series of poems set to music: it also represents a shared, atmospheric journey into the deepest layers of contemporary poetry. Krusovszky’s precise and sometimes painfully sharp compositions gain new life in the musical universe of Bence Jobbágy, a realm in which uplifting, rhythmic melodies constantly alternate with a sense of melancholy. What secrets do these ‘horsetails’ conceal? How do the words of a poem become the lyrics to a song, and how does music shape the reception of a poetic worldview? On this evening, text and sound merge to provide the Müpa Budapest audience with an intimate, yet elemental, musical/literary experience.
