Le Sacre du printemps
Stravinsky’s masterpiece took the framework of an archaic ritual human sacrifice to capture, with unusual sensitivity, the desire and yearning of those living in the early years of the century to experience life in all its intensity. Choreographer and director Klaus Obermaier seeks an answer to the question of whether The Rite of Spring, a work which has become emblematic of 20th century art since its première in 1913, can still express our fundamental attitudes to life one hundred years later. This production, with its futuristic visual design, was premièred in Linz in 2006.
