Platinum level members of the Müpa+ membership programme can buy tickets for the event on 29 September from 10 am, at the Gold level on 30 September from 10 am, and at the Silver level on 1 October from 10 am. Basic level members, as well as members of the general public will get the opportunity to purchase tickets from 10 am on 2 October.

Haydn’s monumental oratorio, The Creation, captivates not only by laying the Enlightenment’s harmonious philosophy bare before us, but also by presenting us with a whole new world. This should come as no surprise since the piece tells the story of how God created the heavens, the Earth, the Sun, the Moon, the stars, plants, animals and mankind in six days. There could hardly be a better occasion to marvel at all this – while soaking up Haydn’s wit and vivid imagery – than at the traditional New Year’s concert at Müpa Budapest, conducted, as always, by Ádám Fischer. This time, his partners are the Austro-Hungarian Haydn Philharmonic, which he founded in 1987 and is therefore celebrating its 40th anniversary this year, and the Hungarian Radio Choir. The vocal solos are to be performed by the German soprano Katharina Konradi, the likewise German tenor Daniel Behle, and a world-famous Hungarian – and Müpa Budapest Artist of the Season – the bass Gábor Bretz.

The Müpa Budapest underground garage gates will be operated by an automatic number plate recognition system.
