Season ticket sales for the 2027 Budapest Wagner Days will begin soon, and tickets will also be available for the later rounds of the Solti International Conducting Competition.

The 2027 Budapest Wagner Days programme kicks off with a genuine sensation: after a long break, The Flying Dutchman returns in Balázs Kovalik’s production, last seen by Müpa audiences in 2018. The performance, which makes an excellent first stop when it comes to exploring the Wagner universe, will be conducted by Martin Rajna, the co-artistic director of the festival, who will be appearing on the podium at the festival for the first time. The leading roles will be performed by Michael Volle and Gabriella Scherer. Wagner fans will also be delighted to hear that Cesare Lievi’s monumental production of Tristan and Isolde, unseen since 2018, will return in 2027 under the baton of Ádám Fischer. The cast includes such world-class soloists as Corby Welch, Elisabet Strid and René Pape. Another highlight of next year’s programme is the performance by Gábor Bretz, Artist of the Next Season, who will present a solo recital featuring Wagner’s best-known arias and duets, while the world-renowned Swedish soprano Nina Stemme will give a song recital accompanied by Roland Pöntinen.
