Big hitters and pretenders to the throne are coming thick and fast in the second half of the year.

The global stars of classical music and jazz will be making return visits: Anna Netrebko, Kirill Gerstein, the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, the RIAS Kammerchor, Branford Marsalis, and Dianne Reeves. The young talents already knocking on the door of international fame – Martin Rajna, Klaus Mäkelä, and Emmet Cohen – will also perform, and the Bach Collegium Japan will make its debut before the Hungarian audience.

The Artist of the Season, Gábor Bretz, will present a selection of Heine’s poems set to music. As Ensemble of the Season, the Ballet Pécs will premiere the latest choreography entitled VIVO by Andonis Foniadakis from Greece.

World music stars will invite audiences to take a musical journey that transcends borders, while popular artists from the Hungarian music scene will also take the stage, including Gergő Szakács, Noémi Barkóczi, Bori Péterfy, Hiperkarma, and Nikolas Takács.

Many of our beloved series will return as well — from JazzTime and Rising Stars through the Mozart Expedition and the Müpa Film Club to Literarium.
