A silent film classic at Müpa Budapest! Fred Niblo directed ‘The Three Musketeers’, based on the novel by Alexandre Dumas and starring the ‘king of Hollywood’, Douglas Fairbanks, as d’Artagnan, in 1921. More than two hours in length, the work will come to life through a ‘historical’ interpretation using an organ, true to the custom of the time, to accompany the images. Taking on the role of composer, orchestra and conductor all in one will be Müpa Budapest’s resident organist, László Fassang, as he aims to highlight the topicality of the story through its musical underlay. Having the opportunity to react directly to every moment of the plot means that his playing will offer a unique and unrepeatable experience.
