The main protagonist of the piece, Tom is an average young man who is captivated from one moment to the next by the diabolical promise of easy wealth and fame. The satanic Nick masterfully manipulates Tom and they strike a Faustian pact – the boy abandons his beloved and follows Nick into a fantasy world of success served up without effort or investment. The road leads him only to ruin, however. The pastiche-like music and the production’s rich comedic directorial language make this work easily accessible to young audiences, since the piece touches on several issues that particularly affect those wrapped up in our digitized, social media-dominated world.
The performance is not recommended for audiences under the age of 16.
