Who hasn’t dreamt of playing music together with those closest to them? For Mónika Lakatos, this dream is no unattainable desire, but a part of her everyday life. In Mónika’s family, regularly playing music and dancing together are an important love language spoken by all, from the children to the very oldest. On the occasion of Müpa Budapest’s 20th jubilee, the Womex award-winning singer will take the stage alongside her cousins and in-laws, where they will primarily perform traditional Gypsy songs that have been passed down from generation to generation, and that constitute an integral part of 21st-century Gypsy culture. With a show developed especially for the occasion, this promises to be an unmissable event for all fans of world music.
