Bridging Europe 2016 - French Days at Müpa Budapest

Acclaimed both in Hungary and abroad, the members of this trio of creative young jazz musicians led by singer-pianist Tamara Mózes take part in festivals and have won awards at various competitions. Tamara earned her degree in diploma at the Ferenc Liszt Academy of Music, and later continued her studies in Paris, in the jazz and improvisation department of the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional. In 2011 she won a scholarship from the French state, and in 2012 embarked on a three-week solo tour of the United States. In 2015, she won the Hungarian state's Dezső Lakatos Ablakos Scholarship for Jazz Performers. A member of several different line-ups, she also regularly appears in a duo with pianist János Nagy. In its performances, the Tamara Mózes Trio places great emphasis on both vocal and instrumental improvisation. Zoltán Kovács is also a member of the Smárton Trio and collaborates creatively with Szilvia Bognár. He and drummer Ákos Benkó are also excellent music arrangers. Ákos is also a member of Syrius Legacy, János Ávéd Balance and the Binder Quartet. Tamara credibly interprets the classics from the worlds of jazz and French chanson and always injects the unique charm of her personality into her productions, employing playful, sometimes surprising, twists and turns. For the Bridging Europe festival, she is conjuring up a programme tailored specifically to the occasion, which will evoke for the audience the atmosphere of her beloved Paris.
