St. Martin “Castle in the Sky”
6 November 2007 Tuesday
7 pm - 9 pm
Béla Bartók National Concert Hall

Film makers, theatre directors and television editors have all taken note of the music of St. Martin. His records have gone gold, platinum and diamond and he won the “Instrumental Soloist of the Year” category in the eMeRTon Awards. He is the composer and music director of seven musical stage works. He has composed music for several commercials and his ballad I miss you remains to this day the accompanying music to Hungarian Television’s popular Drifters show. St. Martin is not just a talented musician but has published three volumes of poetry and has presented his photographs at several exhibitions. He envisaged his Castle in the Sky grand concert for the stage. Earth, water, air, fire with dancers and a twenty two strong symphony orchestra “spice” the evening which also involves Japanese taiko drummers, in addition to a laser and light show. In this costume piece, St. Martin transmits the mood between audience and performances as an “operator”. In the programme, we shall see various video clips recorded in unique locations, among them, the official music now used by the Hungarian male water polo team as they march to the pool which was made in Greece at the Olympics; there is also a unique video shot in the world’s highest ice cave open to the public in the Swiss town of Saas Fee.
