Bridging Europe: Budapest–Brussels

The Belgian Selah Sue has been one of the most popular figures on the European singer-songwriter scene since the 2010s. Also well-loved in Hungary, the singer and guitarist is at home in the worlds of neo-soul and funk, pop and R&B, though she also explores other genres, including reggae and hip-hop. Her outstanding talent is demonstrated by the fact that musicians of the calibre of Cee-Lo Green and Meshell Ndegeocello featured on her first album, while Childish Gambino performed on her second record, the 2015 Reason. Her most recent album Persona, released in 2022, also showcases the diversity of her character, and features collaborations with numerous rappers.

This programme is being organised by Müpa Budapest as a side event to the Hungarian Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
