The name of Ripoff Raskolnikov is a byword on the Hungarian blues scene; as a songwriter and singer, he has been creating deeply personal, no-frills songs for more than 40 years. The 2024 album Twilight Tales served as both a summation and crowning glory of his oeuvre. This unique record has no secrets, but has all the more musical ingredients of a special kind. The most important of these is naturally the Ripoff Raskolnikov Band itself, augmented by the unparalleled skills of Italian guitar virtuoso Roberto Luti – one of the most innovative figures in contemporary blues and an outstanding slide guitarist. Recently, American blues superstar Luke Winslow-King, a guitarist known for his raspy voice, joined them as a creative partner and producer. The result of this collaboration is the new album, Budapest Days, born on the borderlands of blues, folk, and Americana, which they will present with a full line-up to the Müpa Budapest audience.
