Béla Bartók National Concert Hall
Produced by Müpa Budapest
piano Kenny Barron

drums Johnathan Blake

The 80-year-old jazz pianist Kenny Barron is not a legend of the genre simply because of his age, or the fact that he played in Dizzy Gillespie's band for an extended period in the 1960s. Or even because in the mid-1980s he performed some memorable concerts with Sten Getz and Charlie Haden, and has also released some major albums. Or due to the fact that performers like Dave Holland featured on his albums in the 2010s. Instead, it is because, ever since the bepop era, his play has made him one of the most influential pianists on the mainstream jazz scene. Now, he will play for the very first time in Hungary as part of a trio (he has already performed in Budapest in a duo). Unmissable!
