Hobo's Song - Bojtorján retrospective concert
30 November 2015, Monday
6:30 pm - 9 pm
Béla Bartók National Concert Hall

After an absence of more than a quarter of a century, legendary Hungarian country music group Bojtorján takes to the stage, with the original line-up of Zoltán Pomázi, Andor Vörös, Győző Kemény, László Buchwart and Zoltán Barna. The band enjoyed spectacular success in the 1980s: the album Csavargódal, released in 1981, sold more than 100,000 copies within a few weeks, while in 1982 they gave a concert at London's Wembley Arena , the only Hungarian band ever to do so. Their songs have continued to receive constant radio airplay ever since. This retrospective concert will feature outstanding guest musicians on strings, wind instruments and percussion, as well as some surprises to spice up the evening. Country music legend Johnny Cash was once quoted as saying: "At home, when I'm tired, I put on a Bojtorján record because it makes me forget my everyday troubles.”

The production is supported by the National Cultural Fund of Hungary.
