Five up-and-coming bands. Five thrilling concerts and one guest act. On 1 June, Müpa Budapest's out-of-the-ordinary festival will, for the fourth time, give five promising groups the chance to introduce themselves to a wider audience. A festival atmosphere and valuable prizes to be won in Müpa Budapest's underground garage!

Once again this year, a professional jury compiled of Hungarian performers who are appearing at Müpa Budapest this season have evaluated the incoming applications to narrow them down to the five highest scoring bands, which will get the chance to wow listeners at the festival. Getting the party going as both the hosts for the night and the guest act will be JETLAG: already familiar from the club scene and festival stages, Tamás Molnár and Bence Czoller's band invites the audience on a liberating and exciting musical flight with their lyrical electropop.
The five lucky young bands will each take the stage with a 40-minute concert. 21 Gramm Akusztik, whose music can only be described as "human”, won Székesfehérvár's Golden Drummer Award in 2017, but they have also played at the Veszprém Street Music Festival, the Talentum stage at the Woodstock on the Ugar festival, as well as at FEZEN. Gidnim'Rém is actually a one-man project by the multi-instrumentalist Bence Urbán, with his fellow musicians coming to back him up at his concerts. His humorous, though-provoking and extravagant songs have a good chance of taking the audience out of its comfort zone. Indie rockers Peer Pressure were inspired by bands like the Arctic Monkeys, the Strokes, the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Nirvana. They recorded Mess, their first EP last summer, and their second one, Bees, came out this year. Also contributing to the lively party atmosphere will be the alternative rock of Rien du Sol, the M4 Sport televison channel used their début song, Saola, in one of their Formula One round-ups last year, and this year the band issued their first EP,We'll See Father. "Freely adventuresome eclectic art rock, soft niceness and hard shredding.” That's how the members of Verőköltő describe themselves. Unlike their counterparts, they formed eight years ago and have released three full-length albums and one EP since then. On their newest album, which is coming out in the coming weeks, the classic rock trio added a synthesiser and another guitar to complement their sound.

Over the course of the evening, some viewers will find themselves the owners of valuable MOJO™ prizes, and everyone present will get to vote for their favourite bands to help award the special prizes. The most popular acts can win a professional photo session, the opportunity for another appearance and a day in Müpa Budapest's professional studio.

MOJO™, the sponsor of the Garage Band Festival, is contributing valuable gifts to help the winning bands on their path to success, including two Ultimate Buzz speakers, which will go to one of the bands.
