Platinum level members of the Müpa+ membership programme can buy tickets for the event on 29 September from 10 am, at the Gold level on 30 September from 10 am, and at the Silver level on 1 October from 10 am. Basic level members, as well as members of the general public will get the opportunity to purchase tickets from 10 am on 2 October.
There is a sound that almost everyone has heard at some point, whether from the golden age of rock or from the incidental music to the Hungarian children’s series Frakk, the Terror of Cats. That’s right, the Hammond organ. (Come to think of it: Rhoda Scott!) Yet the instrument conceals far more varied acoustic potential than these associations suggest. László Fassang and the Modern Art Orchestra, led by Kornél Fekete-Kovács, explore the borderlands of jazz, rock, contemporary music and folk to reveal the possibilities of this remarkable instrument by means of original compositions and arrangements. Among them is László Fassang’s three-part paraphrase that reimagines György Ligeti’s Hungarian Rock, leading the listener from the piece’s folk roots through the original work and all the way to the elemental energy of rock.
