“Oh, snap, I think I love you!” This is how Cécile McLorin Salvant begins her confession of love on the title track of her 2025 album. Unusual? Mould-breaking? Provocative? All of the above and more are still not enough to describe the 2010 Thelonious Monk Competition winner, who returns to Müpa Budapest for the third time. Above all, she is staggeringly gifted and endlessly inventive, forever blazing new trails on her artistic journey, and now a source of inspiration for an entire younger generation. Each of her albums since her 2019 concert here as part of a duo have attracted Grammy nominations. On this May evening, she is appearing with her quartet to present what is sure to be a varied programme. At its heart: Oh Snap, an album that weaves electronic beats, contemporary pop, folk influences and pure jazz into one irresistible whole.

The Müpa Budapest underground garage gates will be operated by an automatic number plate recognition system.
