Best of Finucci Bros Quartet
9 February 2020, Sunday
7 pm - 9 pm
Festival Theatre
Produced by Müpa Budapest

For the celebration of the tenth anniversary of their founding, the fusion jazz Finucci Bros Quartet conquered America. They completed two tours of the United States and recorded an album in New York with the Indaba Music music label. For this concert, the Roland and Zoltán Balogh-led quartet will perform with an even richer sound than you will hear on their records, with some star guests helping to illustrate the most significant chapters in the Finucci story, complete with plenty of improvisation, superb virtuoso playing and well-known melodies.

Four outstanding musicians, four full-length albums, numerous international awards. Roland is the winner of the 2009 Montreux Jazz Guitar Competition and the 2016 Six String Theory Jazz Guitar Contest, as well as a Junior Prima Award-winning performer. Zoltán won the silver award in the Montreux Drumming Contest and the Jacksonville Jazz Piano Competition. He has appeared on the Müpa Budapest stage as a guest musician for Matthew Garrison in 2010 and Lee Ritenour in 2015. From their numerous concert programmes, the most popular shows amongst audiences include Classic and Jazz, the Barbra Streisand Evening and the Pop in the Jazz Series. To celebrate the anniversary for the closing event of the Jazz Showcase, the team will endeavour to summarise the musical achievements of their career so far and show us their colourful musical world. The evening will feature three star guests: Vera Tóth will bring the songs of Aretha Franklin to life, István Tabáni will perform the best known songs of Queen and Lajos Chico Havas will help perform songs from the latest Finucci Bros album.
