This year, one of Central Europe’s most important talent fairs for jazz artists and genre aficionados will be held for the thirteenth time. Jazz Showcase 2020 features a diverse selection of brilliant artists ranging from aspiring talents to accomplished stars. The young artists will show off their talent in the foyer (Atrium) and in Banner Square before an international panel of renowned judges —with the best invited to return to Müpa’s stage. As usual, already acknowledged professionals will perform in the Festival Theatre. The Oláh Krisztián Quartet will be joined by world-famous American tenor saxophone player Rick Margitza, a former sideman to Miles Davis, while jazz fusion ensemble Finucci Bros Quartet will charm the audience with guest performers such as Vera Tóth, Attila Kökény, István Tabáni, and Kitty Rontó. Furthermore, pianist/composer Dezső Oláh will perform the contemporary jazz production ‘Intermezzo’, a piece inspired by succession of the day-night cycles. Join us!
