The phenomenal bassist, singer and composer, who has Polish, Spanish and Portuguese ancestors, has been a top league performer for over two decades. He now brings his trio to Budapest. "The stage is undoubtedly a place where Cohen feels at home, so much so that attending one of his live performances is probably the best way to get acquainted with his musical universe.”
For Cohen, who had mostly played in clubs, the incredible breakthrough came in 1996, when Chick Corea phoned him and invited him to be a member of his Origin sextet.
Following his collaboration with the brilliant pianist, he went on to play with such big names as Bobby McFerrin, Roy Hargrove, Herbie Hancock and Paquito D'Rivera. The Jerusalem Post called Cohen Israel's most valuable jazz export article, while Down Beat magazine pronounced him a seminal bassist of the 20th century.
