"I'm a singer-songwriter of Hungarian descent, born in Sweden, but living for a while in Budapest. I broke into the Swedish music scene on the stages of clubs in Stockholm and was able to attract a growing following, but I moved to Budapest as a kind of experiment in 2013. I found myself among fabulous musicians in Hungary and we were able to achieve great success on the underground scene. Last year, we collaborated as a support band on Quimby's national autumn tour. My songs are folksy, acoustic, strongly rhythmical and poetic pieces. The style embraces elements of folk-pop, jazz, soul, world music and melodic poetry.
This concert is an opportunity to realise a form of performance that we have imagined and desired for a long time. Since I have been living in Budapest, I have had the good fortune to share the stage with a lot of exceptionally talented musicians, including Sena (Irie Maffia), Saiid (Akkezdet Phiai), Quimby, Bohemian Betyars, M3nsa, and many more. My goal is for every single concert to be a journey through my songs, where each song is a separate stop along the way. At Müpa, we will take this to the next level. We'll supplement the basic band (vocals, guitar, bass guitar, trumpet, percussion and piano) with a string section, harp and vocalists. Our guests will be the Bohemian Betyars (gypsy-punk), rapper/slam poet Saiid performing in Hungarian language, and Ghanaian rapper/singer M3nsa. We're getting ready for a really exciting, dynamic concert, with new arrangements of familiar tunes and some new songs to introduce.” (Antonia Vai)
