The productions of the Budapest Wagner Days festival have forged a new style of performing opera that builds on the unique characteristics and outstanding acoustics of the Béla Bartók National Concert Hall to extend far beyond the realm of 'semi-staged” performance. In this film from 2008, the time of the première Ring tetralogy, the creators of the production, artistic director Adam Fischer and director Hartmut Schörghofer, are joined by the singers in talking about Wagner's monumental masterpieces, the unique approach taken to the works at Müpa Budapest, and the principles and philosophies behind the performances. The 2019 Budapest Wagner Days will present a further enhanced version of this concept.
After the screening, the creators of the production will join us as our guests to discuss this year's innovations.

The documentary film is in Hungarian, interviews in German and English appear with Hungarian subtitles.
