This music documentary about Arvo Pärt, an acclaimed contemporary composer, features moments of his life and work. The film is a visual mosaic with an intriguing composition, where we can see the composer in various environments such as the rehearsals of his music, in conversation with other interpreters and attending premieres, seminars and meetings, while we also get to hear his thoughts on music, his memories and his fascinating stories about his childhood.
We are able to hear minimalized, not fully revealed emotions. There is no one to ask - the answers have to be found within ourselves. The film itself will not provide answers, but instead invites us to perceive the world where Arvo Pärt lives and works.
We take part in Arvo Pärt`s creative process while following him through the rehearsals of his works Cecilia, vergine romana, Orient & Occident and Como cierva sedienta, where Pärt polishes the performance before premieres in collaboration with conductors Myung-Whun Chung, Saulius Sondeckis and Tõnu Kaljuste in Rome, Berlin and Tallinn.
In Estonian with Hungarian subtitles.
Before the screening the movie will be introduced in English by Prof. Toomas Siitan, Pärt expert. The introduction will be translated into Hungarian.
