Makk Károly
A Very Moral Night (Egy erkölcsös éjszaka) (1977)
A Very Moral Night is loosely linked to the films Love (Szerelem) and Cat’s Play (Macskajáték), as all three feature director Károly Makk with cinematographer János Tóth. “Alongside Antonioni and Bergman, Makk became a great artist in the cinematic portrayal of a woman’s soul in these films. […] The most memorable thing in A Very Moral Night is how this fragile little old lady enchants the bordello with her unearthly smile, reminding the girls of the great secrets of life, and above all of its fleeting nature, in a good-humoured and nobly dignified manner.” (Miklós Györffy)
