The Adventures of the Time Gnome
An interactive family concert with Eszter Bíró
26 March 2022, Saturday
10 am - 11:30 am
Glass Hall
Produced by Müpa Budapest
MINI MATINÉE

Seconds, minutes, hours, days, and all the other units of time invented by us. Sometimes they pass at a snail's pace, other times like a gale. Or perhaps they fall through our hands, no matter how carefully we try to preserve them. Not everybody knows that the Time Gnome monitors the order of the passing of time. And when he accidentally breaks the World Clock, he causes a disaster the likes of which have never been seen before... A thought-provoking fairytale with catchy songs and witty games: during Eszter Bíró's interactive family concert, we can be sure that no one will be watching the clock.

The Fonogram (among others) award-winning singer and actress Eszter Bíró is also the author of Állati Zenés ABC (Animal Music ABC), which helps children learn about the letters, and Időradír (Time Eraser), which teaches them about the mystical definition of time. The two books have found a treasured place not just in children's bedrooms but also on the bookshelves of elementary school classrooms. Though many Hungarian families will recognise the Adventures of the Time Gnome from TV, don't be content with only seeing it on the screen! After all, the author primarily defines herself as a performing artist who loves contemplating and playing with time in a live setting - though strictly with the help of the children in the audience! Because it is only with their help that we can find the pieces of the broken clock that have scattered in a thousand different directions, as well as work out the order of the seasons, celebrations and even the days of the week. And that's just the start: you can also rock along in the Minute Boat on the Time River and race along under the ground and among the clouds! Alongside Eszter Bíró, her carefully selected and versatile team appear in the role of time experts. With singing, melody, movement and a dozen different instruments, Sándor Födő, Zsolt Csókás and Balázs Cserta will help bring this adventurous and spectacular journey to life.
