How can an entire story be told exclusively through the language of music and dance? What feats is the human body capable of when it wishes to aid expression through movement? How was a melancholy Russian folk tale transformed into one of the world’s best-known and most heart-rending love stories, where love meets intrigue, and pure emotion premeditated wickedness? In this performance of Tchaikovsky’s immortal ballet Swan Lake, we seek answers to these questions. And while we relive the story of the romance between the gallant prince and the beautiful swan girl, accompanied by Tchaikovsky’s unforgettably beautiful music, our mentors on this occasion will take us behind the scenes of a ballet company, where we can witness the discipline, sweat and toil that go into the light and fragile dance movements that emerge on stage, the smile of the ballerina and the virtuosity of the dancers.

Prior to the performance, from 9.45 to 10.30, we will conduct warm-up theatre teaching activities for children, for which registration is required in advance. We welcome both groups and individual applicants holding valid tickets for the ensuing performance to take part in these free activities. You can request information and register at csip@mupa.hu, indicating the exact number and ages of participants. We will conduct the activities with a minimum six participants.
